Samuel Cordova, captain of Nuevo Leon: “We played today better than yesterday. The reception was much better and we did our best in attack but the Italian team players’ block was very hard to pass. We shouldn’t forget that we were playing against the World champions. We will continue to work hard and hope to show better play in our next match.”
Matey Kaziyski, captain of Trentino: “We are happy to have had a convincing win today. We did not want to be surprised by our opponents who are at their first participation in this event. This relatively easy win will allow us to continue confidently our way in this tournament.”
Jorge Azair, coach of Nuevo Leon: “We feel honored by our participation in this World Club Championships. I am satisfied with the way my players dealt with the match against one of the best teams in the world. We did well in some aspects of the game but were unable to manage the floating services of the Italian players.
We are here to learn, and despite the relatively heavy defeat, the important thing is that we are improving and learning from playing against strong teams from different continents.”
Radostin Stoytchev, coach of Trentino: “I would like to congratulate the Mexican team for the spirit in which they played this match, trying to resist a more experience team. As for my players, we also played a much better game today, and every one of them fulfilled their duties in the match. This is a good sign for the future and we are now looking forward the next game.”
