Mariusz Wlazly, captain of PGE Skra Belchatow: “We are very happy to have won this match and qualified for the semi-final. We made a few mistakes especially in the third set where Al Arabi served well and won many points in the block department of the game. We know that the upcoming games will be very difficult and hope to be in the final.”
Saeed Al Jaamani, captain of Al Arabi: “I would like first to congratulate Belchatow for making it to the final. We played against a first class team used to competing at the highest level. We are satisfied with our performances and the technical staff has been working hard to get us ready to play together as a team with the new professional players being with us only for two weeks. We are continuing our efforts in the club to improve and go beyond the Asian level.”
Jacek Naworocki, coach of PGER Skra Belchatow: “The most important thing of this match was to get the result that qualifies us to the semi-finals and this was what we managed to do. That is all what I can say.”
Mauro Grasso, coach of Al Arabi: “The two teams are playing at completely different levels. We tried our best with the few professional players we recruited and who cannot be compared to the world volleyball stars of Belchatow who are used to playing in the biggest competitions like the Olympics, the European Champions League, etc…..But we are on the right way, and even starting to dream of winning a set or beating such teams reflects the progress that we are achieving. So I congratulate Belchatow and wish them good luck for the semi-finals.”
