Vladislav Babichev, player of Zenit Kazan: “We are happy for this win which qualifies us to the semi-finals. We were expecting a tough match but we won quite easily. We will be focused on the semi-final match tomorrow.”
Ashraf Abouelhassan, captain of Zamalek: “We are very sad for this defeat.I did not like the way the Russian player talked about them winning easily. We are experiencing a very difficult situation as do all sports in Egypt during the present transitory phase. There is no way to compare the two teams and the way they prepared for this event.”
Vladimir Alenko, coach of Zenit Kazan: “I am fully satisfied with the outcome of the match and the way my players played the game. The Egyptian team did not show their best volleyball. We came here with the ambition to win the title but we are aware of the fact that from now on, we will be facing very strong teams, playing a high level volleyball.”
Mohamed Ellakany, coach of Egypt: “As my player said, we are not happy of the way it has been spoken about our team being an easy prey for the Russian team. We tried our best in view of the circumstances we are experiencing and of the strength of our opponents. We acquired experience and hope that our next participations will allow us to give a better image of the Egyptian and African volleyball.”
