Doha, Qatar, October 14, 2011 – Natasa Osmokrovic of Rabita Baku was selected as the most valuable player of the 2011 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship held October 8-14 in Doha, Qatar.
Osmokrovic, who sparked Azerbaijan’s Rabita Baku to the tournament title, also won the honors for Best Scorer, Best Spiker and Best Receiver during the tournament. She scored a total of 70 points (60 spikes, 8 blocks, 2 aces) over the four matches while converting 52.6 percent of her 114 total attacks. In service reception, Osmokrovic posted a 68.3 efficiency percent with 86 excellent receptions on 120 attempts.
Iryna Zhukova, Osmokrovic’s teammate with Rabita Baku, was selected Best Setter in the tournament. Sollys Nestle Osasco’s Adenizia Silva earned Best Blocker by posting 1.13 blocks per set and helping her Brazilian club to the bronze medal. Bahar Toksoy of VakifBank TTelekom Istanbul was chosen as Best Server after averaging 0.67 aces per set. Gizem Guresen of VakifBank TTelekom Istanbul contributed 155 excellent digs and receptions for 12.92 per set in being named Best Libero.
