Doha, Qatar, October 14, 2011 – Sollys Nestle Osasco bounced back from their FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship semifinal loss by cruising past Mirador Santo Domingo 25-9, 25-13, 25-8 to win the bronze medal on Friday in Doha, Qatar.
Sollys Nestle Osasco Captain Juliana Costa: I’m very happy that we have won the bronze medal. As everyone knows we’re still a young team. From the beginning we knew we had to face very professional teams, like the Turkish and the Azerbaijani team. We are looking forward to return to this championship next year and take home the golden medal.
Sollys Nestle Osasco Luizomar Moura: This was definitely one of our best matches in this competition. I’m happy that my young players had the opportunity to come here and gain a lot of experience by playing against some of the best players in the world. We would like to thank the organizing committee for taking care of us during our stay. It couldn’t have been better.
Mirador Santo Domingo Captain Francia Jackson: The Brazilian team is a great team with a lot of experience. Today’s match was one of our worst matches in this competition. I really don’t know what has happened to us. We congratulate the Brazilian team with this great victory and the bronze medal.
Mirador Santo Domingo Coach Wilson Sanchez: We have learned a lot from our four matches in this championship. My players have a great future ahead of them, also as part of the national team. We are looking forward to improve ourselves to be part of this competition again next year.
