Doha, Qatar, October 10, 2011 – Dominican Republic’s Mirador Santo Domingo (1-1) rallied from two sets down to win the lone FIVB Women’s Club World Championship match played in Doha, Qatar on Monday.
Day four of the FIVB Volleyball Club World Championships starts on Tuesday at 15:00 with Azerbaijan’s Rabita Baku (0-0) facing Chang Bankgok (0-1) in a women’s contest. Rabita Baku will be the last team to take the competition floor in the tournament and will play back-to-back days that includes a 15:00 match on Wednesday versus Sollys Nestle Osasco (1-0). On the final day of pool play, VakifBank TTelekom Istanbul (1-0) challenges Kenya Prisons Nairobi (0-1) at 17:00.
Through three days of pool play, Mirador is the only team who have completed their three-team pools.

Dominican Republic’s Mirador Santo Domingo rallied from two sets down and scored the first five points of the tiebreaker to defeat Kenya Prisons Nairobi 20-25, 20-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-7 on Monday morning on the third day of competition in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship being held in Doha, Qatar.
Jeoselina Rodriguez paced Mirador with 25 points, while Yonkaira Paola Pena Isabel added 19 points. Kenya Prisons used a balanced scoring attack as Brackcides Khadambi led four players in double-figures with 20 points. Evelyne Makuta and Mercy Moim contributed 16 points for Kenya Prisons. Kenya Prisons held a 7-4 ace advantage, but their 33 errors allowed Mirador to come back in the match.
“We are happy for this victory - congratulations to the players of the two teams,” Mirador Santo Domingo captain Francia Jackson said. “The Kenyan team has young players. In the first two sets we committed some mistakes, then we managed to correct our mistakes. We are looking forward to do better in the next matches.
“I am happy for the performance of the two teams,” Kenya Prisons Nairobi coach David Lungaho said. “My team improved and played much better than last year's championship. We will fight hard in the next matches in order to achieve victories.”
