Doha, Qatar, October 12, 2011 – VakifBank TTelekom Istanbul used a 12-2 ace advantage to defeat Kenya Prisons Nairobi 25-13, 25-17, 25-10 on Wednesday to secure the top seed in Pool A for the FIVB Women's Club World Championship being held at Doha, Qatar.
VakifBank TTelekom Istanbul Captain Godze Sonsirma: I would like to congratulate Kenya Prisons because their team spirit was amazing! We played very good, but now we have to focus on the next match.
VatifBank TTelekom Istanbul Coach Giovanni Guidetti: It was quite an easy match for us. My players have a lot of experience and are very technical. Some of my players are the world's best players. Seeing Kenya Prisons' team spirit and their determination to win was a good lesson for us, and I would like to thank them for that. We will prepare ourselves for tomorrow's match the same way we always do. I will show my players one video tonight and one tomorrow morning. Exhaustion will not be an excuse tomorrow. We have only played three sets today, instead of five like the other teams. We will do everything we can to win tomorrow's match!
Kenya Prisons Nairobi Captain Brackcides Khadambi: I think we played a good game, although we were a little too relaxed.
Kenya Prisons Nairobi Coach David Lungaho: I would like to congratulate the Turkish team with their victory. They are incredibly strong and technical. I hope they can recover quickly to be able to win tomorrow's match. My team is still very young, they are still developing. We have learned a lot from this competition and will do our best to return to this championship next year.
