Doha, Qatar, October 10, 2011 – Mirador Santo Domingo remained in contention for the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship semifinals after rallying from two sets down to defeat Kenya Prisons Nairobi 20-25, 20-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-7 on Monday morning in Doha, Qatar.
Mirador Santo Domingo Captain Francia Jackson: Congratulation for the two teams. It was a great match of five sets. Our service wasn’t good in the beginning, and when we started to improve our service, we managed to win the match.
Mirador Santo Domingo Coach Wilson Sanchez: We are happy for this victory - congratulation for the players of the two teams. The Kenyan team has young players. In the first two sets we committed some mistakes, then we managed to correct our mistakes. We are looking forward to do better in the next matches.
Kenya Prisons Nairobi Coach David Lungaho: I am happy for the performance of the two teams. My team improved and played much better than last year's championship. We will fight hard in the next matches in order to achieve victories.
Kenya Prisons Nairobi Captain Brackcides Khadambi: All that I can say is that we played a good game, but at the end we lost. We have to improve ourselves for the next matches.
