Doha, Qatar, October 13, 2011 – Trentino Diatec Trento will play for their third straight FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship title after defeating Zenit Kazan 25-22, 25-21, 19-25, 25-14 on Thursday evening in the semifinal round in Doha, Qatar.
Zenit Kazan Captain Alexander Volkov: Our main problem today was that we didn't believe we could win this match. Especially in the fourth set, when we were 10 points behind, we kind of gave up.
Zenit Kazan Coach Vladimir Alekno: There's not much left to say.The Italians have an incredibly strong team, and are just difficult to play against. I wish them good luck in tomorrow's final.
Trentino Diatec Trento Captain Matey Kaziyski: It's a great victory. We're very satisfied with our performance of today. Our team spirit and determination to win was great. We had our difficulties, but we managed to keep control and win this match. Tomorrow we'll play against the Polish team (Jastrzebski Wegiel), another strong team. They have really impressed me in this competition. We have to be careful and give all we have left to win this match.
Trentino Diatec Trento Coach Radostin Stoytchev: I would like to thank the coach of Kazan for his nice words about my team. I believe they were capable to win this competion, as much as us. Today's match we had the same opportunities, but we were just a little luckier.
