Doha, Qatar, October 11, 2011 – Italy’s Trentino Diatec Trento improved to 2-0 and continued their quest to win a third consecutive FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship with a 25-22, 25-15, 25-17 victory over Al-Arabi Doha on Tuesday at Doha, Qatar.
Trentino Diatec Trento Captain Matey Kaziyski: Today's victory was very important for us. Even though 3-0 is a good result, we're stil not satisfied. We can't seem to find the rhythm of our normal play style. We aren't agressive and decisive enough right from the start, which is something we need to resolve as soon as possible. Still I believe that the more we play, the better we will become because we're getting more used to this environment every day.
Trentino Diatec Trento Coach Radostin Stoytchev: I would like to congratulate Al-Arabi with their performance of today. I believe they can play better, but they didn't have enough time to prepare for this competition. I'm satisfied with the result and also with the quality of our serve, which was very decisive today. Our middle blocker Dore Della Lunga was injured, but he is recovering and we were very happy he could play today. Other problems we're having, can't really be defined as problems, but as situations within the game. These are caused by the change of the ball.
I still believe we can do better and we need to keep improving no matter what prices we win.
Al-Arabi Coach Adel Sennoun: It was a difficult match. We have played three matches within four days, with the same players. Some of them were exhausted, which caused some injuries. One of the main reasons of our defeat was the incredibly strong serve of the Italians, especially in the second and third set. We definitely need to improve on several aspects, because this isn't the level I want it to be.
