Doha, Qatar, October 8, 2011 - Zenit Kazan won their opening match of the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship 2011 over Trinity Western Spartans Vancouver 25-11, 25-15, 25-16 on Saturday.
Vladimir Alenko, Zenit Kazan Coach: We are happy to participate at this championship. The first match was a good experience and a chance to check the condition of all of our players. We came here to win the title.
Alexander Volkov, Zenit Kazan Captain: It was a testing match. We saved our power for the next strongest matches.
Ben Josephson, Trinity Western Spartans Vancouver Coach: The speed of the Russia players was as fast as we expected. I am happy with my guys and hope we will do better in the next matches.
Rudy Verhoeff Rudy, Trinity Western Spartans Captain: I am really excited for playing in this tournament. It is kind of a big test for us against the strongest volleyball teams in the world.
