Doha is hosting their third FIVB Club World
Championships after being given the honour in both 2009 and 2010.
The Qatar capital has a recent history of hosting events and in the last
five years has welcomed the 15th Asian Games in 2006, the 3rd West Asian
Games in 2005 and is preparing to host the 2011 Asian Indoor Games as
well as some of the matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Each match will be played at the
Aspira Dome and men’s and women’s games will alternate, providing spectators with
the best of both worlds.
The capacity of the arena is 15,000 spectators and opened in 2005. It hosts indoor sporting events such as basketball and volleyball, and also hosts concerts.
