Team profile

Volley Bergamo have always been a major force in Italian Volleyball and won their first national championship 15 years ago in 1995. A year later the side picked up an unprecedented grand slam, winning the Italian League, Italian Cup, Italian Super Cup and the Champions League.

Since then they have gone on to pick up five more Italian Championships, three more Italy Cups, four Italy Super Cups and six more European Championships.

Coach profile

Davide Mazzanti arrived as coach of Bergamo after a year as coach of Club Italia.

After two seasons as assistant coach of Foppapedretti Bergamo, with which he won an Italian Cup, in 2008, and a Champions League, in 2009, Mazzanti has turned his attention to molding young athletes who will look to make up the national team in the future.

Aside from his club role he is also part of Italy's women's national  team set up, picking up two gold medals at the European Championships (2007 and 2009), as well as the 2009 FIVB World Grand Champions Cup, a Mediterranean Games (2009) and four bronze medals at the FIVB World Grand Prix (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010).
