 Press Release
Team rosters released for Club World Championship

Both Italian team Trentino BetClic (white) and Polish team PGE SKRA Belchatow will be taking part in this year's men's tournament
Lausanne, Switzerland, November 23, 2010 – The team rosters for the 2010 FIVB Club World Championship, set to take place in Doha, Qatar from December 15-21 were officially launched on the FIVB website on Tuesday as the eight men’s teams and six women’s teams begin their final preparations for the tournament.

This year’s tournament will see the women’s event return for the first time since 1994, and earlier this year the FIVB made the landmark announcement that the men’s and women’s matches would alternate throughout the competition.

The FIVB Club World Championships returned for the first time in 17 years in 2009, with Trentino BetClic from Italy claiming the honours after defeating PGE SKRA Belchatow from Poland 3-0 in the final last November.

Both European sides return this year and both are fielding strong line ups. Trentino will be led by Bulgarian star matey Kaziyski and joining him in Doha will be a host of stars from across the world, including the Czech Republic’s Jan Stokr and Cuba’s Osmany Juantorena. Belchatow meanwhile boast a range of Polish and Bulgarian stars, led by Mariusz Wlazly.

USA team Paul Mitchell brings together a host of players from many different domestic tournaments as they hope to create a solid side while Russia’s Dynamo Moscow bring Brazil star Dante with them. Elsewhere Argentina’s Drean Bolivar can rely on a number of national team players including Lucas Ocampo and Javier Filardi. They will also be joined by Al Ahly of Egypt, Paykan of Iran and Al Arabi Doha of Qatar.

Brazil’s Sollys Osasco can count on a number of the country’s top players in the women’s edition including veterans such as captain Carol and Jaqueline as well as up-and-coming stars such as Natalia and Adenizia. Italy’s Bergamo will be the other club to look out for with national captain Eleonora Lo Bianco and Francesca Piccinini stepping out for the side.

However
Fenerbahce of Turkey will consider themselves just as worthy for the favourites tag. They have 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship winner Liubov Shashkova in their ranks as well as many members of the Turkish national team, who themselves finished sixth at the recent World Championships, and ex-Polish star Katarzyna Skowronska. The travelling fans can also act as an extra player for the side and many are expected to make the journey to Qatar.

They will also be joined by Kenya Prisons, Federbrau of Thailand and Mirador of the Dominican Republic.
