Semi spot is 'minimum' objective for Paykan

Paykan captain Amir Hosseini during the game against Al Arabi where the Asian champions finally claimed a last-four berth

Paykan coach Peyman Akbari:
"Congratulations to Al Arabi, because they played a very good match. We had some problems with their triple block, it was not easy for us to find a way through but finally we found some different options in attack and that helped us win the game. We are happy to qualify for the semis; last year we finished fourth and so this was the minimum result everyone was expecting in Iran. My young players felt a little bit of pressure but starting from tonight we reset completely and we prepare for the game against the Italians (Trentino BetClic)."

Paykan captain Amir Hosseini:
"We are very happy to qualify for the semis. I want to congratulate Al Arabi for their excellent performance because they played a good game, especially their foreign players. We have a few young guys in our team but thanks to the help of our coach we were able to fix our problems and overcome their lack of experience."

Al Arabi Doha coach Adel Mohmed:
"Our opponents took advantage of our mistakes and they exploited every single chance to beat us. Our reception was not good and we were not able to cover the field of play as we should have done."

Al Arabi Doha player Abdelaziz Saoud:
"I am happy with this game although we lost because we enjoyed it. This is a good chance to get valuable experience and take some positives also from our own mistakes."
