Team profile

In the 10 year existence of Trentino, last season is regarded as the best ever by players and fans alike. Radostin Stoytchev’s side came to within inches of an historic grand slam winning three of the four competitions in which it took part. An extraordinary achievement that made the small city of Trento one of the centres of the Volleyball world, with victory in the FIVB Club World Championship the highlight of the year.

No less important was the success in Italy and Europe over the last twelve months which saw the side pick up the Italian Cup and the Champions League.

The secret of this success can be found in the work put in by Stoytchev as well as many other individuals such as Bulgarian captain Kazyiski, Cuban spiker Juantorena and Brazilians Raphael and Vissotto.

The club continues to grow each year thanks to a large number of fans that follow the side wherever they play.

This year has also seen the squad grow, offering Stoytchev a wide range of choice.

When the tournament begins in Doha, Qatar, the club will have played for two months already and are likely to be one of the most dangerous sides at the tournament.

Coach profile

Radostin Stoytchev is now in his fourth season with Trentino and since arriving has had an incredible effect on the club.

Joining from Dynamo Moscow, Stoytchev led the Italian club to the national title in his opening season with them.

The 2008-09 season was also successful for Stoytchev as he helped the side clinch the CEV Champions League as well as the FIVB Club World Championship following its return after a long hiatus.

Then in 2010 he took the team to a second straight CEV Champions League title as well as the Italian Cup.
