“I’m satisfied with the performance of my players,” says Zenit coach

Zenit Kazan's Libero Verbov won the prize of best libero

Zenit Kazan (RUS) coach, Vladimir Alekno
“Winning the bronze medal is of course better than ending in fourth place. I am happy and satisfied with the performance of our players. They have done a good job after thier loss in the semi-finals. They were calm, composed and showed character to come back so well to win this match. The bronze medal is not what we came here for, but at the end of the day it is fine and I am pleased.”

Captain, Lloy Ball
“Obviously our club is lucky to be successful. Our aim is obviously first place, but bronze is better than nothing. We had to concentrate hard to win against a good Iranian side. The thing is that you never want to lose, but when you do you try to improve, learning from your mistakes. Applying this strategy is sure to help when we play them (European teams) in the forthcoming Champions League. The Championship gave us a fair chance to play against the strong teams like the Italians (Trentino BetClic) and the Poles (PGE Skra Belchatow). It was good to come here if only for that aspect.”
