Trentino BetClic Trento (ITA) head Coach, Radostin Stoytchev
Our main objective was to win the crucial two points from this match and see ourselves at the top of the pool so that we play the second best from the other pool and the players did their job efficiently. In the semis when you play against the second best you still have a chance; if you win, then you play the strongest in the final. The first set was pretty balanced, but the later two were quite comfortable and easier at the end.
We are still trying to adjust to this new formula; the performance has improved with each game and could manage to play at high-level. There are still some areas we need to improve in this formula. The team is used to play matches everyday without any break, so they are mentally and physically prepared for this format of the championship; at the same time we are doing our best to motivate them so that they play the semifinals in top quality and capability.
Captain, Matey Kaziyski
This match was much easier from yesterday, but we still had to use lot of our strength and power to win. Our objective was to win and secure the top slot in the pool and now we are ready for the semifinals.
Polataneros de Corozal (PUR) head Coach, David Aleman
After yesterday’s loss we were virtually out of the tournament. We just had to prepare mentally as physically the players were really tired. It’s a good experience coming in the top level tournament, it will sure help us when we return home and play in our Puerto League.
Captain, Fernando Morales
We were facing a very good team, although we were good in moments, but were let down in the other phases, you can’t do that when you are up against a tough opponent. When we miss few chances they capitalized on scoring 7-8 points, it wasn’t expected at this level.
