The amazing solid block of the Italian team was the main factor to achieve the victory as they didn’t allow Belchatow to apply their attacking strategy all through the match. The middle blocker Emanuele Birarelli and Andrea Sala with the aid of the side blockers made it impossible for Kurek colleague to return back to the field after the thrilling first set. The tight block paved the way for the wings Leandro Vissotto and Matey Kaziyski to fly high and score from all the net positions and use the golden formula to their side. With his 21 points scored in the match Vissotto made the difference with the aid of Kaziyski who scored 16 points. Bartosz Kurek topped the match scorers with 23 points but he didn’t find the support from his team stars specially Stephane Antiga and setter Miguel Falasca who were out of their well known performance. .
PGE Skra Belchatow players were more concentrated at the start of the match and started to channel their attacks through the big gun Bartosz Kurek from position 4 and the opposite Stephane Antiga from position 2. As the Italian team couldn’t tolerate the Polish attacks Belchatow led 8-5 at the FTT before Trentino rebounded back through improving their block at the wings. The Italian team opposite Leandro Vissotto started to do a good job from position 2 as Trentino got the draw 12-12. Again the Belchatow blocker worked well against Trentino’s attacks and they went ahead again 19-17 forcing the Italian team coach to call a timeout that helped the team to lead 22-21. Emanuele Birarelli worked well again in blocking to give his team the set point at 24-22 but the Italian team made two mistakes to allow Belchatow to draw 24-24 before Matey Kaziyski scored the set point and with a spiking mistake from Kurek Trentino won the set 26-24.

The Polish team struggled to return back to the field with the substitution of Antiga by the captain Mariusz Wlazly but the Italian team remained the superior side through some very talent attacks from Vissotto and Trentino made it 2-0 by winning he set 25-18.
The Polish team looked very disturbed at the beginning of the third set and they committed several mistakes in reception and attacks allowing the better Italian team to proceed towards their attacking strategy and they went ahead 8-4 at the FTT. The Trentino’s block reached their utmost organization through Birarelli and Sala and they widened the point difference to 16-12 at the STT. Belchatow coach changed his skilful setter Miguel Falasca and fielded Maciej Dobrowolski as the Polish team struggled to save the match but Trentino reacted by the tight block against Belchatow combinations and Kaziyski did a great reaction from the backline hits to widen the score again to 23-17.
