Cuba Team |
Cuba comes to the Women’s U20 World Championship in Thailand
with a group of athletes that has a clear future in terms of
promotion to the national team. With a average height of
184cm and a great standard of reach and jump it won’t be
long before these women realise their dreams and make the
fully fledged national team.
This team is already experienced as far as the players have
competed in NORCECA Championships, both junior and senior,
World Championships, World Grand Prix and Pan American Cup,
illustrating the fact the jump between U20’s and the
national team isn’t minimal.
Players such as Rosir Calderon, Yoslan Muñoz, Yanelis
Santos, Nancy Carrillo, Yusleidis Herrera, Nataly Griñan,
Dalina Bocourt, Yisel Cabrera and Kenia Carcaces are all
bright stars of the future.
With a vision of the 2004 Olympic Games, this World
Championship will be part of the preparation to keep Cuba on
track for Athens, while playing hard, achieving good results
and keeping Cuban Volleyball at the top on the international
stage.
