Kim Kyung-Su, 46, began as head coach of the Korean national youth girl’s team in 2001 but became the coach of the junior side only this year.

However, his experience in coaching at school level is impressive having first started in 1983 with the Haksung Middle School Boys’ Volleyball team before moving into a head coaching role with the Kangneung Girls’ High School Volleyball team in 1992. A position he still holds.

“My highest aim is to take the Championship title,” Kyung-Su said. “Although I recognize that the paths to the final or even the semifinal are not easy, I will give my best to encourage my team to reinforce their attack and their team work to enable the best result.”
