Wadson Lima |
The Brazilian Women’s U20 team is coached by the experienced
Wadson Lima who has already coached in all three categories
in Brazilian women’s Volleyball.
In 1989, Wadson was in charge of the national junior team
that won the world title before taking the youth team to
second place in the World Championship.
In 1991, he coached the senior side to a silver medal at the
Pan-American Games in Cuba before take the team to a fourth
place finish at the Barcelona Olympics.
Wadson continued coaching the women’s senior team in 1993
and returned to coach the youth and junior sides in 1994,
winning the South American titles.
One year later he collect a silver medal in the Junior World
Championship before going one place better in the Youth
World Championship in 1997.
Wadson was again in charge of the junior team when they
finished second at the World Championship in 1999.
His last podium finish occurred in 2001 when he won the
silver medal with the Brazilian Youth national team in
Croatia, which included many players who will be chasing
Brazil’s fourth world title in the last year when the 2003
Women’s U20 World Championship begins in Thailand.
