Technical Evaluation “World Cup 2007 Men”

The documentation on the World Cup 2007 has the same design like the previous technical evaluations of the 2005 World League and the 2006 World Championships; however, it presents only the four best teams.

A wide offer of information as a preview of the Olympic volleyball competitions is presented in a compressed compilation of about 150 video clips as well as personal data, performance data and reports/comments from the special World Cup portal.

After the 2008 Olympics, a comprehensive analysis with general evaluations of the level of performance and typical trends of development in international volleyball as well as detailed team characteristics of the best eight teams will be elaborated.

BRAZIL, RUSSIA, and BULGARIA won the first three places and secured their participation in the Olympic volleyball tournament in addition to host CHINA at an early date. Together with the fourth-placed in the World Cup USA – having won the Olympic ticket versus Puerto Rico and Cuba in superior style in the Norceca qualification – the best four of the current world ranking are qualified for Beijing 2008 and will surely be among the favourites.

Other winners of continental qualifications are VENEZUELA (South America), SERBIA (Europe) and EGYPT (Africa). The last four Olympic tickets will be issued in May/June during the final Olympic qualification tournaments in Germany and Portugal (two tickets in two tournaments with four participants each) as well as in Japan (two tickets). More detailed information on the ratio of participants in these competitions is to be found at the FIVB website (qualification tournaments in progress).
