Former Italian star Andrea Lucchetta praises Olympic Games

Lucchetta is attending the Olympic Games as a commentator

London, Great Britain, July 31, 2012 – Three-time Olympian Andrea Lucchetta of Italy has said the London 2012 Olympic Games has brought back his own memories of competing at the Los Angeles 1984, Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992 editions in the latest blog for the FIVB website.

Luccetta, who is affectionately known as “Lucky” by fans, also praised the home fans, saying that the promotion of the sport leading up to the Games has been incredible.

“I mean, 15,000 people who watch a volleyball game in a country notoriously not familiar with volleyball… That’s something unbelievable! It’s clear evidence that the Federations are working with goals in mind as far as the promotion of the sport is concerned.”
