"Our goal is to play always well" stresses Dominican coach Marcos Kwiek after first win

London, Great Britain, August 3, 2012 – “Truthfully, we are better than Great Britain and were expecting a calm match. Nevertheless, our team made it easier, keeping concentration throughout the match” said Dominican coach Marcos Kwiek after the 3-0 win of his side on Friday afternoon. “Our goal is always to play well and achieve a good spot in the pool rank so that in the quarterfinal we can prepare for whoever comes”.

“We're very happy to get our first points and thanks to God for letting this happen” stressed Dominican libero Brenda Castillo. “It's the first time that I've played against Britain. To be honest they are a team that are always animated”. As for the next match with Algeria, she pointed out: “We have to win to qualify. We will have to concentrate, but we can beat them, with God’s help”.

GB coach Audrey Cooper: “I think two areas we outplayed them: we served better, we passed better. They’re an amazing team who are on form. Their libero, Brenda Castillo, is amazing. Janine Sandell is one of our hardest hitters but Castillo still gets an arm on the ball constantly”.

GB player Savanah Leaf: “They came out to win and they fought really hard for every point. They are such a different team in terms of style of play. They are a really fast team. Their discipline is outstanding. We need to continue to push on and we learn from every experience and match we play in. Each day we’re learning something new”.
