Women's Lucky Loser matches confirmed

The Netherlands' Madelein Meppelink and Sophie van Gestel will take on Hana Klapalova and Lenka Hajeckove of the Czech Republic in one of the two Lucky Loser matches at 22:00

London, Great Britain, August 2, 2012 - The women's Lucky Loser matches have been confirmed following the completion of pool play at the beach volleyball competition at Horse Guards Parade on Thursday.

Both Lucky Loser matches will take place at 22:00 following the last two men's pool play games, with Great Britain's Shauna Mullin and Zara Dampney taking on Austria's Doris and Stefanie Schwaiger on centre court while Hana Klapalova and Lenka Hajeckove of the Czech Republic will play the Netherlands' Madelein Meppelink and Sophie van Gestel on court one.

In the centre court match, the Schwaiger sisters have played the British pair once before, winning a qualifiyng match at the 2012 Beijing Grand Slam.

Meanwhile, Hajeckova/Klapalova will play Meppelink/van Gestel for the first time on the world stage although they have played two times at the 2012 European Championships (Pool A and quarterfinals) both won by Hajeckova/Klapalova in three sets.
