It is impossible to play China without a good serve -Terzic

China held a 7-2 margin in the service winners category against Serbia

Wei Qiuyue, Captain of China: We were not quick enough at the beginning of the first set but that changed very quickly from the second set on and we stayed consistent throughout the match. We will try to keep the spirit and the same mindset the rest of the tournament.

Juenmin Yu, Coach of China: “Serbia are a strong team and they showed it in the first set. From the second set on we were able to overcome some difficulties and it was quite good match for us today.

On the performance of Wang Yimei:
I am pleased to see her playing the way she did after recovering from the surgery (ankle). She is a very important player for us.

Wang Yimei, Player of China: The first set was difficult, it is the first time some of the players have competed at the Olympics. But we managed to hold on and trusted each other, which helped us catch up.

On her performance:
Although I had an injury to my right ankle earlier in the year, I was still excited. I hope I can compete to my normal standard. Compared to the last Olympics in Bejing 2008 I feel more confident in my position.

Maja Ognjenovic, Captain of Serbia: It is very difficult to explain what happened. We were very powerful in the first set but then had a little bit of problems with the reception, and also the relation of blocking and defense. We will try to improve in our next matches.

Zoran Terzic, Coach of Serbia: It is very difficult to talk after this kind of game. We played with a lot of courage and power in the first set. Then our serves and attacks were very bad. Without a good serve is almost impossible to play against a team like China with their good reception and fast attack.

On the preparation to play against Wang Yimei:
I don’t consider No. 1 as a dangerous player against us. I am more concerned about their middle blockers.
