FIVB Finance Commission meet via videoconference

 
Lausanne, Switzerland, May 13, 2020 – The FIVB Finance Commission, chaired by the FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° and FIVB Finance Commission President Habu Gumel, held a meeting yesterday via videoconference.

Members of the Finance Commission were presented with the financial report 2019, and praised the positive results presented in the report, which have been facilitated by the FIVB leadership’s forward thinking strategy. The Commission also discussed the ongoing work of the FIVB in developing volleyball and beach volleyball towards its vision of the future, the report of the FIVB Controller and the FIVB investment portfolio.

Opening the meeting, the FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° said: 

“2019 was a very successful year for the FIVB as we set out to achieve our vision to be the world’s number one family sport. Working with our partners and stakeholders across the globe, we introduced new strategies and initiatives to enhance our portfolio of world-class events to grow our beloved sport and bring new fans to volleyball. 

“Last year we also launched our innovative digital strategy with the objective of providing fans from all over the world with access to the very best of volleyball. This new strategy has already accomplished a great deal, and the FIVB is now ranked in the top three of the most successful International Sports Federations on the majority of the most popular social media platforms.”

Additionally, the following proposals for the FIVB Executive Committee have been put forward by the Finance Commission:

• To approve the financial report 2019
• To approve the FIVB Controller report
• To continue to invest in the FIVB digital strategy, with this being a priority for 2020-2022.
