Egypt jump out with straight-set win over Algeria

Egypt enjoy their first win at FIVB Women's U20 World Championship. The team of coach Hesham Badraway defeated Algeria 3-0 in today's first Pool D match.
Brno, Czech Republic, June 21, 2013 – Egypt started their 2013 FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship campaign with an impressive straight-set win over Algeria (25-21, 25-16, 25-20). In the first All-African duel of Pool D, the Egyptians quickly left no doubt about the winner of the important opening match.

Best scorers of the match were Aya Elshamy for Egypt and Bayou Louiza for Algeria with 13 points each.

As from the start of the match, Egypt took control of the contest with better blocking and sharp serves. Algeria did their best to bounce back but the athletes of head coach Saidani Aimed Eddine committed too many unforced errors for a successful comeback.

Egypt continue their U20 World Champs campaign on Saturday versus Nigeria while Algeria enjoy a rest day on the second competition day of the 2013 FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship.
