Brazil Federation launches new Supercopa Banco do Brasil de Voleibol

 
The Supercopa was created with the intention of involving representatives of the entire Brazil
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, May 2, 2013 – The Brazilian Volleyball Federation has announced the creation of the “Supercopa Banco do Brasil de Voleibol”, a national beach volleyball competition developed in partnership with the Bank of Brazil.

The competition will include teams from all regions of the country, from May 8 to June 16 and will comprise six rounds taking place in Cerrado, Dunas, Litoral, Mata Atlântica, Amazônia and Pampas. There will also be a final round in Brasilia with the regional winners.

The first round of the “Supercopa Banco do Brasil de Voleibol” will be the “Cerrado” in Anápolis (GO), from 8 to 12 of May. Five teams will participated of this round. Beyond Monte Cristo (GO), will participate UPIS (DF), Palmas Esporte Clube (TO), Dom Bosco (MS) and Lucas do Rio Verde (MT). Each federation had the opportunity to indicate one team.

Another five cities will receive games from the qualifying phase: Fortaleza (CE), in Dunas round; Macéio (AL), in Litoral round, Uberlandia (MG), in Mata Atlântica round, Chapecó (SC), in Pampas round, and Manaus (AM), in Amazônia round.

“It is a new competition where we are counting, one more time, with the support of our main sponsor that understood the necessity of having more options of competitions for the clubs”, Renato D’Avila, technical superintendent of CBV said.

“The Supercopa was created with the intention of involving representatives of the entire Brazil. This year maybe will not be possible to have all the states represented, but, next year, I am sure that this will happen”.

The competition format is simple. It will be six regional rounds and one final round, in Brasilia. The champions of each round will automatically qualify for the final round in Brasilia, that will be formed for two groups of three teams each. The two best teams in each group will advance for the semifinal.
