World Championship dream a reality for Morocco's Bouchdouk
Tunis, Tunisia, March 6, 2013- After Morocco's victory
against RD Congo 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-23) on the fifth and last day of the
preliminary round of the 2013 Men's Junior African Nations Championship in
Tunisia, the FIVB World Championship ticket is now a reality for the Moroccan
team. The happiest member of the team was coach Brahim Bouchdouk who has finally achieved his dream of taking his players to the the highest level of volleyball in this age category. "I've coached the most promising stars of volleyball since I began my career in 1990 with the Moroccan youth team. I had one dream: to qualify for the World championship with my country Morocco. Now this is no more a dream because my team turned it to a reality," Bouchdouk said after the match. "I refused to work outside my country to make money because of that dream. I'm fond of working with the youth and junior teams because at this age you can do a lot and can change everything with the players, the techniques, tactics and also the behaviour," "I have worked with this team for 5 years now since most of them have been 14 and 15 years. Even when I left them for a while to take care of the older age group, I followed them carefully till I had them playing at their best again for this competition. We worked hard for 18 months and now we are looking forward to showing our consistency at the World Championship," he added. "We are happy with the performance of our setter Amine Zayani and the attacker Zouhair El Graoui and we hope to see them on top form during the World Championship." Bouchdouk started his coaching career in 1990 with the Moroccan Youth team which he coached for 4 years before taking up his position as coach of the women's team from 1994 to 2000. He was also appointed coach of Morocco's senior team. He then returned to coaching men's volleyball from 2000 to 2006 before taking up his post with the Salawya club 2006 to 2008. Since 2008 he has been the coach of Morocco's youth and junior teams and has now taken the junior team to the World Championship in Turkey.
