Development Commission focuses on NF sustainability
 
The President & Executive Vice-President in charge of the FIVB Development Commission, Dr. Saleh Ahmad Bin Nasser leads a discussion group
Lausanne, Switzerland, January 23, 2013 – The role of development in spreading the sport and leading National Federations toward sustainability framed discussions at the Development Commission meetings held on Tuesday and Wednesday at FIVB headquarters in Lausanne.

It was proposed that communicating effectively with the new generation should be an area to focus on, and that new competitions and competition formats are needed that respond to the needs of Category I and II federations.

Commission members also reviewed ongoing development activities and their impact on the growth of the sport. These include the Development Fund and the projects it supports, international development cooperation, the Volleyball Cooperation Programme, Mass Volleyball, and Volleyball at School.

The Commission also took time to review the Development department’s relationship with the FIVB Press Department, and how that ties in with development goals.
