Cape Verde have high hopes for 2013
The federation shared their Operational Plan for 2013 and goals for the year with the FIVB Technical & Development Department earlier this week. Cape Verde’s goals for 2013 are to facilitate the practice of volleyball through training and competitions; to promote the image of volleyball in the country by encouraging press to cover more programmes and competitions; and to create a website promoting national competitions. Four National Championships are going to be held this year, starting with a double-gender beach volleyball youth national championship in April. In July there will be a men’s national volleyball championship and a women’s national volleyball championship, and in August a beach volleyball senior national championship for both genders will be staged. Cape Verde will also participate in International Competitions, including qualifications for the Men’s and Women’s Volleyball World Championship 2014 in May and October, the Lusophony Games in November and the Continental Volleyball Circuit. The country has also expressed interest in hosting three FIVB courses this year: a VCP beach volleyball grassroots course, a VCP Refereeing course, or a Technical Seminar on Data Volley.
