FIVB Volleyball calendar updated
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, December 15, 2012 – The FIVB Executive Committee approved the 2013 FIVB volleyball calendar which was proposed by the Sports Events Council and included new dates for some of the age group World Championships. The only other changes sees the dates of the FIVB Club World Championships firm up while the Women's Under 20 World Championship in the Czech Republic and Girls Under 18 World Championship in Thailand move later in the months of June and July respectively. The confirmed FIVB International Sports Events Calendar for 2013 is as follows:
Event Host Country Dates Club World Championships TBC May 12-19 (previously between May 1-15) World League Intercontinental Round Various May 31 - July 13 Women’s Under 20 World Championship Czech Republic June 21-30 (previously June 7-17) Boys Under 19 World Championship Mexico June 27 - July 7 Girls Under 18 World Championship Thailand July 19-28* (previously July 5-14) World League Finals TBC July 16-21 World Grand Prix Preliminary Round Various August 2-18 Men’s Under 21 World Championship Turkey August 22 – September 1 World Grand Prix Finals Japan August 28 – September 1 Women’s Under 23 World Championship Open Mexico October 2-13 (previously July 12-21) Men’s Under 23 World Championship Open Brazil October 3-14 (previously August 2-11) Women’s Grand Champions Cup Japan November 12-17 Men’s Grand Champions Cup Japan November 19-24 The host cities for the Club World Championships, World League Finals and the two Under 23 World Championship Open events are still to be confirmed.
