The two leaders addressed a number of other important topics on Friday including the preparations for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the development of volleyball and beach volleyball worldwide.
Speaking after the meeting, the FIVB President said:
“It was an honour to meet with the IOC President today and to learn from his great experience and expertise. I was also pleased to share with him what volleyball has achieved around the world.
“We discussed the status of the FIVB Nucleus Project which supports the the development of the sport globally. We started with 30 countries actively participating in our activities, and now we are proud to have 112 out of 222 National Federations engaged on a daily basis with the sport. That’s a true development and we are working hard to move volleyball to the next level.â€
