FIVB Executive Committee meets in Lausanne

Lausanne, Switzerland, March 15, 2012 – FIVB President Jizhong Wei pointed to the significant progress in development, the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup and marketing in his opening address of the annual meeting of the FIVB Executive Committee, which began at the FIVB headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland on Thursday. President Wei also highlighted the key issue of the FIVB Congress, which will take place in Anaheim from September 19 to 21, where a new FIVB President will be elected.
“The FIVB has made many achievements in the past year especially in development, the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup and marketing,” President Wei said. “Now we will have the chance to receive reports on these areas, evaluate and make further recommendations to the Board.
“We will also address the Congress to ensure that the process of the presidential election is democratic and fair. The Executive Committee is the key to implementation of collective leadership and I give my thanks to all the members and especially those of the Executive Group. Communication is very important.”
The FIVB Executive Committee will receive proposals from each of the FIVB Commissions on which they will make recommendations to the FIVB Board of Administration which will meet from Saturday to Monday.
