Italy overcame Thailand 3-0 in Hong Kong, while China breezed past Japan by a similar score. Turkey had to fight to edge Serbia 3-2 on home soil, while Germany were also taken to five sets in Ankara as they beat the Dominican Republic. USA dominated Korea in a 3-0 victory in Sao Paulo. In Group 2, the Netherlands maintained the top spot after a 3-0 win over Belgium, who are third. Puerto Rico recorded their seventh win, beating Poland 3-1, and are second in the group. Poland, who will host the Netherlands, Puerto Rico and Belgium in the Group 2 Final Four, are in fourth place. Also in Group 2, Peru outlasted Cuba 3-2, while hosts Argentina beat Canada 3-1.
