AVC Eastern Zone Volleyball Association hold annual meeting in Hong Kong

Seven representatives from the Asian Eastern Zone Volleyball Association attended the annual meeting in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, China, July 6, 2014 – The annual meeting of the AVC Eastern Zone Volleyball Association was held concurrently with the women’s championship held at the Ma On Shan Sports Centre on Sunday.

The attendees of the meeting were pleased as the women’s championship had good promotion of women’s volleyball in the Asian Eastern zone.

In the meeting, the Mongolian Volleyball Association agreed to host the men’s championship in the end of May 2015, while Japan Volleyball Association accepted the hosting of the women’s championship between the last week of June and first week of July in 2016.

The future organising committees have also agreed to hold Mass Volley activities during the zonal championship, which will involve the public or school teams.

Eight teams have been decided to comprise the number of teams in the Asian Eastern Zonal Championships in 2015 and 2016. In case there will be less than eight teams, the host country may invite a second team – local or guest team from outside the Eastern Zone. The second team will not be considered in the final official ranking, but will be recognised in the championship.
