Cameroon women prepare in Turkey for World Championship
Yaoundé, Cameroon, July 5, 2014 – Cameroon’s women's volleyball team have started their preparations for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship Italy 2014 at a camp in Istanbul, Turkey this weekend.
The African representative will be playing friendly matches there with local clubs as coach Nane Eone tests his players ahead of the prestigious event.
The coach who led Cameroon to the World Championship through their exciting qualification in Algeria asked his players to show discipline both on and off the court during the camp as it is a quality, which will determine their level of success during the World Championship.
"We need to use this camp to reach a considerable level of our performance," said coach Nane Eone.
"Discipline is our key factor during the preparations because it will help us to reach our best ahead of the Finals in Italy. We need to face our group teams with a highly organised line up to show our consistency in the big event."
Cameroon qualified for the World Championship through Africa Pool T in Algeria where they won the six nation tournament ahead of Egypt, Algeria, Botswana, Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Cameroon will compete in Pool B at the World Championship in Italy with Brazil, Serbia, Turkey, Canada and Bulgaria.
