Second phase of ticket sales for Men's World Championship now open

Warsaw, Poland, April 29, 2014 - The second phase of ticket sales for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Poland 2014 is now open through ticketpro.pl.

The success of the first phase of ticket sales has demonstrated Poland’s pride in hosting the men’s volleyball World Championship for the first time.  Tickets for the semifinal and final round of matches in Katowice, as well as the Opening Ceremony and match (which will see Poland play against Serbia) at the National Stadium sold out almost instantly. One category of the National Stadium tickets sold out in under four minutes.

Volleyball fans can now buy tickets for matches in the first round of the tournament. After Katowice and Warsaw, tickets for matches in two other host cities of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Poland 2014 – Wroc?aw and Gda?sk – are now available. The magnificent Kraków Arena, which is nearing completion, is putting in place its final preparations for the tournament.

The historical Centennial Hall in Wroc?aw will see Poland, Argentina, Australia, Cameroon, Serbia and Venezuela compete in Pool A. These internationally successful teams have caused a few major surprises in the past and the fight to the finish will be hard. The Volleyball Federation of Poland has put on offer a family ticket for those fans wishing to experience the emotion of the competition together with their families.

The fantastic line-up of Pool B teams, which will play at Katowice’s Spodek, guarantees that this representative venue of Upper Silesia will become the focal point of the tournament.

Brazil – one of the best volleyball teams of the 21st century needs no introduction as it is the most popular foreign team in Poland. However, more and more Polish fans will be on hand to support the German volleyball team, while a large group of Finnish fans will be coming to Katowice. However, Korea, Tunisia and the NORCECA 2 representative are not lacking in ambition or skill.

Group C will see the mighty Russia, a team that has dominated the volleyball scene over the last two years as the 2012 Olympic champions, 2013 World League winners and 2013 European Champions. A large group of Russian fans will be coming to Gda?sk to show their increasing support for volleyball and volleyball events in Poland. Bulgaria will be Russia’s greatest rival in the group, though the competition to be faced from the quickly growing Chinese team, as well as the steadily improving Egypt cannot be ruled out. Two NORCECA teams will complete the pool’s line-up.

The beginning of May will also mark the start of ticket sales for the majestic Arena Kraków, which is in the process of having its installation work completed.

Fans are encouraged to visit Arena Kraków firstly, to watch a top class sporting event at Poland’s newest, largest cutting-edge facility for an unforgettable experience. Secondly, there will be some excellent volleyball on display for the sport’s connoisseurs as the Pool D teams of Italy – who was for many years one of the leading teams in the sport – super technical France, quickly growing Iran, ambitious Belgium and two NORCECA teams.

With tickets available on ticketpro.pl fans have yet another opportunity to join in this fantastic global, historical event.
