Ruslan Shevstov of Kazakhstan battles off China's trio 12 Chen Wang (12), Fan Yang (9)and Frederic Winters in the bronze medal match on Wednesday

Manila, Philippines, April 16, 2014 - Baic Motor of China swept Kondensat-Zhaikmunay of Kazakhstan in straight sets 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-20) to snare the bronze medal at the PLDT Home Fibr 2014 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

Belgian-Italian skipper Wout Wijsmans fired 15 points built on 11 spikes and three aces for the Chinese crew, who ended the tournament one place higher than last year when they finished fourth.

Kondensat-Zhaikmunay's fourth-place finish was also an improvement from its fifth-place performance in last year’s edition.

Leading 19-18 in the third set, Baic Motor resumed its momentum and scored six of the last eight points highlighted by Wout's two service aces for the match win.

"After our loss to Iran in the semifinals, we're still happy that we finished in a good way," said Wijsmans. "Too bad we didn't make it to the finals, but we still played consistently out there."

"We tried to play our best for our fans back home, and it's a privilege to play against a strong team like Kazakhstan (Kondensat-Zhaikmunay)," China's coach Li Mu said through an interpreter.

Liang Chunlong, Yang Fan and Canadian import Frederic Winters scored 10 points each as Baic Motor bombared with 10 aces compared to Kondensat-Zhaikmunay's one courtesy of Maxim Samarin.

Samarin topscored for the Kazakh club with 15 points, including 12 on attacks and two on blocks.
