She also played for the Dominican National Team in the senior ranks at the Women’s Pan American Cup in Lima, Peru and at the FIVB World Grand Prix in Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Chinese Taipei.
“I am very proud about this election by the sport writers and commentators from my country and I will use it as a reason to continue working even harder,” Martinez said. “I dedicate this award to my coaches who have helped me so much and also to all my teammates.”
Marte Hoffiz said to be proud of all the achievements by Martinez who he considered the next great Dominican player.
“Our program continues to produce players who contribute to the evolution of our senior national team,” he said. “Brayelin is a good example of it and there are many more talented players coming up from the lower age-levels.”
Martinez’s role with the Dominican Senior Team is increasingly important and she will be taking part in all high level competitions in 2014, including the FIVB Women’s World Championship in Italy and the FIVB World Grand Prix.
