USA women's coach Kiraly to headline USA High Performance Coaches' Clinic
Since 2004, the USA Volleyball High Performance Department has featured the annual HPCC as a way to bring together great coaching minds to network and share the most current, pertinent and critical issues in the sport. Topics vary annually and have covered ideas such as the men’s versus women’s game, sports psychology, uses of technology and drill ideas.
Along with Kiraly, U.S. women’s team assistant coaches Reed Sunahara, Tom Black and Joe Trinsey will be featured speakers during the event, along with U.S. men’s team assistant coaches Matt Fuerbringer and Mike Wall, and U.S. women’s athletic trainer Jill Wosmek. Both coaching staffs will show drills and techniques used within the USA gym as part of national team training sessions.
During the HPCC, the U.S. Men’s National Sitting Volleyball Team will host its Canadian counterpart in a four-match series. The matches will take place between February 7 and 9. Clinic participants will have a chance to watch the final two matches as part of the clinic.
Kiraly, who has won three Olympic Games gold medals and is the only athlete to do so in both beach and indoor volleyball, led the U.S. Women to a 25-6 overall record in his first season as head coach this past year.
