Serbia men's team visit children's home over New Year

Children from the Duško Radovi? children's home in Niš mix with players from Serbia's men's team
Niš, Serbia, January 2, 2014 – Players from the Serbian men’s team visited a children’s home in Niš in the New Year and gave the children presents, such as calendars, T-shirts and volleyballs.

The visit was set up by the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and its general sponsor Vip Mobile as part of their social action programme.

The participants and media representatives were greeted by Darko Bulatovi?, President of the City district "Red Cross"; Slobodan Miloševi?, Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia; and Gordana Živaljevi?, Director of the "Duško Radovi?" children’s home.

Gabriela Bulgariu of Romania, the CEV Supervisor at this week’s FIVB World Championship qualifying tournament in Niš, also attended the ceremony.

“This is really overwhelming and will surely put a smile on the children’s faces,” Mrs. Bulgariu stated. “It’s really true that volleyball connects.”

Slobodan Miloševi? pointed out that the visit was in no way an obligation: “This is not a duty; it is our wish. As always, we are here to help. We can see how much they all need it and we are extremely happy to be with the children, to support them and to bring them joy.”

Serbia will play in Pool J of the European qualifiers for the 2014 World Championship from January 3 to 5.
