Ghana edge Cote d'Ivoire for victory in Women's World Champs qualifier
Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire, November 30, 2013 - Ghana continued their successful campaign as they set the second victory against host Cote d'Ivoire in an epic tiebreaker 3-2 (13-25, 25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 15-5) in the second day of African zone 3 (Pool O) qualification tournament for the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. The match was held at Forum de l'Université de Cocody in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire on Friday.
Nigeria secured the first win against Togo 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-29) in the second game of the four-nation competition, which qualifies the top two teams to the final phase of the qualification round, to be held during January and February 2014.
Ghana led the tournament with a win-loss ratio of 2-0 (5 points), while Cote d'Ivoire came second with 1-1 (4 points). Nigeria is ranked third with 1-1 (3 points) and Togo fourth 0-2.
