Andrea Zorzi reviews World Grand Champions Cup opening day

On Tuesday Brazil Wallace de Souza paced the triple world champions on their way to a 3-1 victory over Iran as the South Americans vie for their fifth title in the competition
Kyoto, Japan, November 20, 2013 – Andrea Zorzi reviews the opening day of the 2013 FIVB Men’s World Grand Champions Cup.

On Tuesday the competition got started at Kyoto Prefectural Gymnasium with Italy causing the first sensation of the tournament after edging Olympic and European champions Russia before Brazil and USA lived up to the expectations as they cruised past Asian champions Iran and hosts Japan with the same score (3-1).

Before analysing the three matches played on day 1, Andrea Zorzi takes a little time to share his thoughts and feelings about the differences between women’s and men’s volleyball for he just attended the women’s tournament that came to a close last Sunday in Tokyo with 2012 Olympic champions Brazil topping the charts while USA and Japan settled for silver and bronze respectively.
