Crvena Zvezda take third consecutive Serbia Super Cup title

The Volleyball Club of Crvena Zvezda Beograd took the Super Cup title in a match lasting 129 minutes.

Belgrade, Serbia, October 18, 2013 - The Volleyball Club of Crvena Zvezda Beograd have successfully defended their Super Cup title after claiming their third consecutive trophy, beating Radnicki Kragujevac in a five set thriller match 3-2 (25-21, 25-23, 21-25, 21-25, 15-7) at the Sumice Hall of Sports on Thursday.

Before the match Mrs. Ana Avramovic (Secretary General of Crvena Zvezda) presented awards to the team and staff of the Serbian U23 national team who won the silver medal at the recent World Championship in Brazil. The recipients included Filip Stoilovic, Vuk Milutinovic, Lazar Koprivica, Dusan Petkovic, Tomislav Kukanjac and Laslo Lukac.

The trophy at the end of the tournament was presented to the team captain of Crvena Zvezda, Dušan Petkovic by the President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and FIVB Executive Vice President Mr. Aleksandar Boricic.

Special awards were given to the players and staff members of Crvena Zvezda by Mrs. Snezana Sparic, Director of Development at the Wiener Stadtische Insurance Company, the title sponsor of Serbia’s Superleague,and Mr. Nenad Golijanin, First Vice President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia.

Mr. Slobodan Milosevic, Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, and Mr. Igor Kolakovic, Head Coach of the senior men's team of Serbia, presented consolation prizes to the players and staff members of Radnicki Kragujevac.
