Cameroon women team won the silver medals of All Africa Games in Mozambique 2011

Libreville, Gabon, July 19, 2013- Favourite Cameroon and RD Congo Women's volleyball teams started their way victorious at the Sub Zonal African Women Pool F qualification tournament for 2014 World Championship held in Libreville, Gabon on Friday.

RD Congo hammered their neighbours Congo Brazzaville in straight sets (25-15, 25-22, 25-17) in 71 minutes at the four-nation tournament on opening day.

In the second match, the more experienced Cameroon team crashed Gabon 3-0 (25-14, 25-7, 25-2).

The competition features two matches on Saturday as Cameroon face Congo Brazzaville, while RD Congo meet Gabon.

The top three countries of this pool will proceed to the zonal phase of the qualification to be held in October and November 2013.

The African World Championship Qualifier passes through three stages. The Sub Zonal is held in July to qualify 30 teams to the second round, which is the Zonal phase to be held in October and November 2013.

The top 12 teams from the zonal phase joined by the top two ranked teams in the FIVB ranking will play in two pools of the final phase in January and February 2014, where the leader of each pool will qualify directly to the 2014 Women's World Championship in Italy.
