Bulgaria wins Halkbank Balkan Pre-Youth Championship

 
Bulgaria beat Turkey in the deciding match to win the first Balkan Boys Pre-Youth Championship
Dobrich, Bulgaria, August 6, 2012 – Bulgaria came first in the Balkan Boys Pre-Youth Championship in front of a home crowd in Dobrich after beating Turkey in the last and deciding match. The team finished with a 3-0 win-loss record, clinching the title without conceding a set.

Four teams participated in the round-robin tournament. Bulgaria and Turkey had won their previous two matches before playing each other in the deciding match. Bulgaria hammered home a 3-0 win (25-19, 25-11, 25-20) to claim the first Pre-Youth tournament in Balkan history.

In the bronze medal match, Serbia edged Romania 3-1 (25-23, 29-27, 20-25, 25-22).
