Australia will be one of 24 teams looking for a favourable draw on Wednesday
Rome, Italy, October 27, 2009 - The Drawing of Lots for the key FIVB event Ė the 2010 Menís Volleyball World Championships will be streamed live by official host broadcaster RAI TV on the FIVB website on Wednesday evening.
The celebrated event will take place at 19:00 (local time) in the Petrassi Hall of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome and Volleyball fans around the world can view the hour long ceremony live on RaiSport Piý and www.fivb.org.
A total of 24 countries will be drawn across six pools for the 17th edition of the FIVB Menís World Championships, which will be held across 10 different cities (Milan, Ancona, Catania, Florence, Modena, Reggio Calabria, Turin, Trieste and Verona) in Italy from September 24-October 10, 2010. The host nation Italy and the first 11 teams in the world ranking will be automatically placed according to the serpentine system with the following 12 teams drawn into pools.
A record-breaking number of nations (112) participated in the year-long qualifying process before 22 countries joined hosts Italy and defending champions Brazil in the final round.
